Got rotifers?

[You'll need rotifers. Enough to feed your clown fry 5x a day for a week to 10 days before they'll be able to switch over to baby brine shrimp.]

[Rotifers are live planktonic food that literally looks like dust when you try to view them in a vial or jar of water. You need a special screen just to capture them for tank feedings.]

[Thanks. I've determined that you'll need rotifers for at least the first four days, then you can switch to naupili and pulverized food mix with some success. Rotifers are ideal and a must. I'm working on getting some. I was hoping somebody local might have a starter culture.]

[For what it is worth you can purchase frozen Rotifers from DNA and Petland in Lewisville (I am sure there are others). I know they are not as good as live but in a pinch they will work. In addition they are vitamin fortified.]

[Thanks, if they're frozen cysts they would work. Otherwise the problem appears to be that the larvae will only eat live food. That's why pulverized food doesn't work until day five.

Thx.]
