I picked this up from a fellow member and this brown jelly stuff has appeared since then. Is this brown jelly? And what should I do to get rid of it?

You can use ReVive as a coral dip, and blow off the brown jelly disease with a turkey baster. Keep an eye on the coral, because it may reappear and continue to destroy more living tissue.

You might consider dremeling off the section where the BJD is, cutting about 1" to the right of it. Maybe it'll work in your favor.
