Getting into SPS/LPS

Hey Guys,

I have a 72 gallon bowfront with a 4x56w T5HO fixture. Currently I have softies under it, but I would like to get into some stonies. Do you guys have any suggestions on some that would do ok in my tank?

I've got almost all LPS and they seem happy under quad T-5's like what you have. How much depth is there on your tank? Here's what I've got for LPS that is doing well: Frogspawn, Hammers, Chalice, Various Candy Canes, Bubble Corals, and an Australian Elegance.

The hammers and frogspawns are sprouting new buds to where I have to prune them and the candy canes are splitting nicely. Bubbles and Elegance open up nicely and are holding their colors well.

2 x ATI AquaBlue Special and 2 x ATI Blue Plus. As long as you don't have crazy depth, I would think you should be okay. My Elegance sits on the sandbed, the bubbles vary from low to high, and the frogspawn and hammers are at about mid-depth which would be about 10" below the waterline for me. The candy cane seemed to like a mid-level depth too as opposed to being up high.

Do you know of any of the LFS around here that sell ATI? I still have stock Coralife bulbs in mine and want to switch, but don't want to order online.

I'll look into Custom Reefs. I PM'd you about meeting this weekend Shmoopy. I can't wait to get some of those awesome Frags from you.

If you keep your sps closer to the top with good flow, you could get away with a plethora of corals. Any monti caps, digi's, chalace, acros (at the very very top), some of the color might mute out but that does not mean its healthy. Pickup a monti cap from some one here on the club and experiment around with it.
Good luck
charlie
