GBTAs: How green is yours?

I see a lot of "green" bubble tip anemones that are brown. How many people out there have one that has stayed green (not looked green bleached and then colored up)?

Please include how long you have had your nem in replies. Pics would be great, too. :)

I'd had the above GBTA for 7-8 years at the time those pics were taken... Sadly, it didn't survive the hustle bustle of the tank move last year...

And that's my new GBTA, only had it a few months thus far...

not to high jack but why is it still called bubble tip when its not. do they only bubble when small?

mine dont look every green in this pic it does in person on the tips. i have had it maybe 6 months. i think it is a lighting thing

There's a great deal of debate on that. They tend to bubble more in the wild, and only bubble in captivity on and off. As to why that is, as I said, we're still trying to understand...

as why they bubble your guess is a s good as mine
it might be age
or seasonal
i have about 22 right now and 15 are bubbled

i also think it might be a temp thing at times
ive noticed when the tanks are run with heaters during the winter sometimes they seem to bubble more

Brian, I have seen many pictures of your gbta. I did not know you lost it  . Good luck with the new one.

Chappy, those are beautiful. I love the red tips!

well i always assumed it was a green as it was bleached when i got it but had a green tint not so much anylonger.

I personally think it has alot to do with your supplemental lighting as far as color goes. I know some color up more than others as well. I have had my green bubble tip for about 1 1/2 years and it is not dark green, but you have not trouble telling it is green. I guess it stays happy because it almost always has nice dime size bubbles on the tips, and it is about 9 inches across. Everything looks different under different lighting.
