Fungia plate is PUFFY!

Does a puffy fungia plate mean anything? My nano cracked two night ago and I did an emergecny transfer to the big display tank. It was doing fine but when I came home tonight it was puffy looking. I touched it and it was soft, like filled with water. You can still feel the skeleton which is rock solid if you press in a little though.

I tested Nitrates, Nitrites and Amonia today and it wasn't detectable.

I got some new pricey corals in and don't want him to take them with it if its expels something funky. What to do, what to do.

Here is a pic of it when it was new in the Nano:

So where is the puffy version?

I wouldn't touch my corals to see how it feels. I know they always remind people not to touch the animals at all these snorkeling & scuba diving sites.

Just a friendly reminder

Fungia corals can intake a LOT of water and extend a ways from the skeleton. They are also designed to be able to shed thier thick slime coat, to get rid of anything that may of settled on them.

One of the more toxic corals, and they can move. Be careful theres nothing he can wander into and sting.

Good point Vincent.

Btw, did you guys ever read the post on RC about the guy that wondered what the mantle of his clam felt like? He reached into his tank to pet his clam  and the clam slammed shut on his finger. He ripped his arm out in shock, burning it against the metal halide bulb, which then shattered from the splash of water.

That still makes me laugh to this day.... what a goofball.
