fuge light killed itself

Has anyone ever had a light take a dive into their tank. Our refugium led light decided to commit suicide tonight by falling in. I heard small splash tonight but didnt notice it was the light until about 2 hours later when I went to feed . I noticed the display was cloudy and started investigating . Started water for a change immediately. The cloudiness is worse, nitrates are spiking (over 80)and the refugium is giving off a really string smell . This a 105g display with about a 50g sump. Has anyone ever dealt with this. Fish all act fine, Palys look happy but the xenia looks pissed. One of the frogspawn looks happy the other not so much. Massive water change is planned for tomorrow as soon as we can get water made. This is all after dealing with a nitrate spike after a power head fell and blew a whole in the sand bed. which led to 5 water changes of about 40% each.

yea mine did that this past summer and I lost birds nest, kyrptonite candy corals are just now recovering. won't trust suction cup mounting devices again.

I have had it happen and it bleached all my sps. Actually what fell into mine was my ATO. It could have easily caught on fire and I'm lucky I was there when it happened. The color came back about 3 weeks later. I just did water changes.

Thanks guys. This morning it looks better . Candy canes, moon polyps, palys all look fine and happy ,cloudiness is gone. Right now the pom pom and pulsing xenia and kenya tree are the only things that look unhappy. Wife thinks the grounding probe we have might have helped. Amazing thing about the light ,its an led and when I pulled it out half of the lights came back on, Thats after about 2 hours submerged. Crazy. The smell seems back to normal also.
