Has anyone used this salt before? Thoughts? I picked up a box from DNA today, parameters look ok on the box. Will see how it actually is when I make a batch.

I mixed up a batch a few weeks ago. Each box mixes up to 200g of water at 1.026sg. I wrote about it here:

Thanks Marc! [smilie=clapping.gif] I started a new batch and salt is clearing up nicely. I did noticed some dust flying upwards as the salt touches the water.

BTW, the smell is nice [smilie=lol.gif]

I use it and like it, mixes clearly and it does have a nice smell. Doesnt seem to cake easily from moisture like other salts.

Thanks!

I just tested for dKH and is low at 7.2 with Hanna test kit and 7.5 with a brand new Elos test kit.

The price sounds great, but found this thread and scares me a little: http://www.bayoureefkeeping.com/topic/9982-fritz-complete-marine-salt/

I also just set up a new mixing station specifically for mixing 1 50g bag at a time, so I was disappointed to here that is not how Fritz is packaging it.

Thanks for the read. I contacted Fritz and they replaced the box of salt. I'll test the parameters on my next WC.
Other than the dKH been in the low end, this salt will be on top of my list for various reasons. First off, they are local to DFW, their customer service is outstanding and the salt mixes to clear within a few minutes (10-15) and is ready to use. Fritz recommends waiting at least 12 hrs to assure all levels are stable but in a pinch this could safe a reef.

When I talked to the rep he told me that they shoot for 7 to 9 DKh with a target of at least 8. They do mostly this due to many people using Biopellets.
So far no complains, what I love the best is how clear it is after a few minutes of mixing.

Yes. I am waiting for my card so I can get the discount.

I don't know. I used 1.5 cases to mix up 250g of saltwater at 1.027sg. By weight, that was 52 lbs plus 26 lbs if I recall correctly. I explained my method in the link posted above on March 21.

Just did another 50g water change today. Still have 100g (two more water changes) worth.
