Found a baby jellyfish today - Again!!

So, I found a baby jellyfish swimming around in my tank today. I have no idea how he got there. He's seriously the size of a sequin. I put him in his own little fishbowl with tank water, sand, and an airstone for circulation (which is plenty of "current" for him).

Anybody know what these guys eat? He looks like a normal jellyfish (not the one on Marc's ID page). I don't know how he got there - a likely hitchhiker.

I was thinking phyto. Babybrine might be too big. He is the size of an adult brine.

Cyclop-eeze (frozen kind). They don't live long in home aquaria.

Ack, I don't have any and my LFS don't carry it. I can order some. Until then will he eat live Phyto-feast? Maybe baby brine?

I don't know. What I do know is that I'm always seeing cyclop eeze flowing through the jellyfish tanks. Baby brine shrimp would be good, and you can hatch them within 24 to 48 hours.

Just returned from the Monterey Bay Aquarium and they had copepods in their baby jellyfish tanks.

Might try those seapods out.

Jellyfish number 2 was found today! He's half the size and yellower than the other jelly. The jelly #1 has doubled in size and has lost his yellow. He is very clear. We have them in a fish bowl with an airstone on one side to create a circular current. We add baby brine shrimp daily. You can see the shrimp on their tentacles and actually inside the large one's body.

Hopefully this'll help one of you if you find one. We have a friend that's does large-system consultation and he told us it's really rare to find a jelly in your home tank, and even harder to keep them alive. Apparently they need specific tank conditions to be raised from their medusa stage then let go as jellies.

I wonder how they got in our tank to begin with!

If they're eating and the one has been growing surely that's a good sign though. I bet they're cute! What are you going to do with them?
