Found 2 critters hanging out on my glass.... nudibranches...

I was looking around my tank and noticed a pair of these hanging out on my glass don't know if they are the good type or bad ones. I took them out and they are resting in a cup on the counter right now.... any ideas?

Hi,

Could be zoa munchers or monti munchers, probably not good if you didn't put them in there on purpose. Are you seeing zoa polyps closed up a lot or mysterious zoa loss. Check any monti etc for small unexplained white areas also.

Definately Nudi's. If you look at the color of them, you can usually find out which zoa rock they came off of, but if they are on your glass, more than likely they are everywhere. I would start dipping your zoas, and check them over really good for white spirals on the polyps that are egg clusters.

There are also the kind that look like star polyp nudibranchs.

If you have zoanthids, look at the polyps, if you have some closed take the colony or frag out and drop it in RO/DI for a few minutes and swirl it around. If they fall out, they are zoanthid eating nudi's. If thats the case, you'll want to either RO/DI dip them all, once a week for a month or two or use Potassium Pergramanate in the dip to kill them and the eggs. Zoanthid nudi's are a pain but beatable....

yea, I have a Blasto that I got from a LFS in one of their Big sales.... Well it's not doing so good, and my water parameter's in check. So I was checking it out this morning right before work and found another one. Sucked him out. I will be dipping all my corals this afternoon.
