Flatworms

So I have flat worms... small brownish gold ones.... I bought a yellow coris wrasse, a melanarus wrasse and a spotted mandarin... this should take care of the problem.... any thoughts???

Mine disappearred after I added my melanarus wrasse, I never saw him eat any of them but they are gone now.

that should keep them in check, if they are bad then siphon them out when you do your water change. you can also run a siphon from the tank to the sump and have it go through a filter sock to catch them. i had them a long time ago, siphoned what i could see and got a melanurus to keep them in check and i never saw them again.

I just got a Melanurus that I hope will eat my flatworms:

So we'll see how they do. I have a 3.5" male - how about you? I would be curious if its a size/sex thing on how well they eat the flatworms.

I got a yellow coris wrasse and a scooter blenny for my tank when there were FW. They did an amazing job. The main tank doesn't have FW's anymore, but the fuge still has a couple. I don't worry about the FW in the fuge because they do provide food for the scooter blenny and wrasse

When I put mine in last night, watched him for about a minute, he seemed fine, checking the place out, I turned my back for 5 seconds, then I didnt see him again for the rest of the night. I was getting worried he had jumped and a cat made a snack of him. Today when I got home from work, he was out and about and having a grand time swimming in the current.

They will often bury themselves in a sand bed they are also jumpers so you need to make sure there is no way for them to jump out of the tank. Something canopy and don't forget to cover your overflows.

Ok... I just got hame and the Melanurus is out for the first time.... I am very happy,,, I will try to get some pictures ...

Update: ok ... I bought all three... Melanurus, Yellow wrasse and the target mandarin goby... I would have to say the yellow wrasse looks to be the best at eating the flat worms... he is all over picking at the worms... and is doing a great job.... can't tell on the goby.... the Melanurus took a bit to come out but now is fine... maybe he will start to get better... all are very pretty and healthy....

will flatworms make my zoanthids not open???.... either they or one of the new fish have been causing them not to open as usual... I also have one of the new fish moving rocks around in the front of the tank... very odd... I wish I knew who was doing it....

Maroon clown 3", yellow watchman Goby, Melanurus wrasse, yellow wrasse, target mandarin goby... I would say the watchman goby but I have never seen him on the left side of the tank... he has a house on the far right....

the zoas will close if irritated, most likely the fish picking the worms off. i wouldnt be too worried unless they stay like that for a long period of time.
