Flatworm!!

Well lately these brown things have been popping up and I just thought they were diatom algae so i siphon them out every water change, but they just keep coming back. I thought it might be because i might be over feeding so i reduced my feeding. However, today I did a water change and siphon out the brown stuff and I was curious this time so I just studied the brown things. Turned out they started to move around!! I knew then that it was flatworms. What should I do?? Are they a problem? Will a mandarin eat them??

I have heard a Target will. Blue velvet nudis will also but once they eat them all they will die so give it to someone else who has this problem. You can also go with Faltworm Exit.

I found this article. Anthony Calfo does not seem to think they are an emergency situation. At least not this particular kind of flatworm.

When I ran into the problem back with my 55 I just siphoned with my weekly water change until gone.

Thanks for the quick responses! I'll most likely just continue to siphon them out every water change since it they do seem to be getting less and less. I also was wondering if flatworms causes ammonia and nitrate to increase? Lately my water's been having a fishy smell to it.

I've read everywhere online fairy wrasse love to eat flat worms. They are pretty fish and do alot of good work in a reef! Good luck!! said:
Yeah they are pretty, but i'm looking for a small reef safe fish. I only have a 28 gallon and i already have 2 pearly's, 2 blk clowns, and a pj cardinal. They're all still pretty small. I don't want to be over doing it with the bioload. So i'm thinking a small mandarin will hopefully do the trick. I really don't have the much flatworms bc i've been siphoning them out thinking they were diatom algae.
