Flame or Long-nose Hawkfish ??

I am just now putting a few fish in my 125g FO/LR tank. I currently have two yellow-tail damsels, one zebra eel, one maroon clown.....

I would like to get a hawkfish. Which do you suggest? A flame or Long-nose. I like them both...one for color, the other for body shape.

Which do you like better?

Yeah, that is one of the things I really like about the hawk's...there uniques swimming style. Since the LN is a little less colorful than the flame, do you find that he gets lost in the background or is he noticed?

I agree with Matt, in general, IMO flame hawks are more aggressive than long nose hawks but they're both cool.

Others are spot on. I absolutely love the flame. Cool cool fish that is stunning. They will eat shrimp though almost every time.

I love shrimp to so settle for a longnose which is still a cool fish but not as cool!

I've always wanted a flame hawk. But I have a peppermint shrimp. What if I bought a flame hawk that was pretty small? Would that make a difference or will he just eat my shrimp when he gets bigger?

Ever see the LNH at Fish Paradise? I never realized they got so big. Bet not too many crustaceans get past that guy.

I have a Flame Hawk in my 120 reef, dont have any problems with him. He is normal size, I have one cleaner shrimp & one flame shrimp, but they are both about the size of the Flame Hawk, and the Hawk was added long after the shrimp was in the tank. Not sure if that matters, or if even maybe its just a matter of time before he goes after him. I usually hand feed the Hawk when I feed Krill to my eel so maybe he stays full.

Just my own experience.

I wound up getting a LNH. Just put him in my tank. I did see the LNH at Fish Paradise today. He is huge. Thanks for everyone's suggestions!
