flame angel and yellow tang compatability

I just put a flame angle in my tank (115g) today and I noticed that my yellow tang is very aggressive towards it. The tang is chasing it in and out of the live rock and backing up to it and "fanning" it away with its tail.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before..... Should I get rid of one of them or will this go away on its own?

yellow tangs, although pretty, are very aggresive in nature. I would say more so then my sohol tang.

However, Tri solved the issue with the 560g fish tank mainly because there were so many different fishes in it that the tang couldnt get to everyone.

My Regal tang chased my Coral Beauty angel for several weeks. Then one day he just quit and hasn't bothered him since. That's been months ago.

I kept a Yellow Tang and a Flame together for a long time without any problem. They were put in at the same time so I guess the Tang did not have time to get comfy.
Give it some time, good luck.

I also have a Flame and Yellow Tang in the same tank and never had any problems, in fact they hang out together. The Flame was in the tank over a year before the tang.

Yeah I think the problem is that the tang has been in there for a while. They are doing better today though.

I had a Scopas for about 8 months and then added a smaller purple tang (cardinal sin) and as expected, since the scopas was established, the scopas chased the purple tang around anytime it came out. I even tried to trap the scopas but no luck and finally he just quit. Now they live in harmony, so I would give it some time and they will probably calm down a bit, especially since they are not closley related. If they don't get along after a while though you may want to do what Marc suggested and rearrange the rock work a little if you can. It is like changing the furniture around and they will find "new territories".
