Fish selection, quarantine and treatment for diseases

With the 72G contents moved to the 120. I'm now ready to stock with some fish. I'm contemplating either T5's or MHs to light the 72G, so I should be able to keep some corals, too.

I admit that I'm not very rigorous when it comes to quarantine a fish, or treating for diseases. Your opinions here will be greatly appreciated.

Here's my current fish list in the 120.

1 Blue Regal Tang (from Chuck Jordan)
1 Yellow Tang
2 False Perc. (not sure if they are mated)
1 Target Mandarin

I want the following fish:

1 Powder Blue Tang (120G)
1 Flame Angel (72G)
1 Six line wrase (72G)
2 Clowns (72G, not sure which type, but not Clarkii or Tomato)
1, or 2 Coperband Butter Fly (72G and 120)

I'm struggling with how to properly quarantine them. If I get them all at once, I'll have to put them all in the display. Getting one or 2 at a time will allow time for quarantine and treatment, but I'll have to worry about aggression.

Suggestions?

BTW, what do you treat for fish diseases?

Thanks,

I agree.. one or two at a time at the most.. to let the filtration catch up with the bio load.

I would add caution with the Flame. I've seen some that were great in there, however, I added one.. and it was a model citizen in the tank, until it got a taste of some GSP... cleaned two big rocks of them before we finally were able to get him out of the tank.

I didn't think the fish would cause that big a swing, but you are right, better take this slow.

I know with most Angels, it's more miss than hit. I'm willing to take my chances with the Flame Angel though :D

Thanks,

I would add them in this order...

Butterfly - They are slow and picky eaters. Get them in there first so they are not harrassed by faster eaters or aggressive eaters. One it is established and eating then go to to the next one

2 clowns and flame can be done at the same time.

Powder Blue last.... Let the others become established and then put it in. They it will be less stressful on the others, rather than adding them to a tank with the Powder Blue. Get a small one....

In a tank that size with an established mandarin, I would think twice about adding the 6-line. They can be aggressive towards smaller pod eaters and a 6-line is a very active hunter and consumer of pods. Your Mandarin is a slow eater and may find it difficult to compete with the 6-line. Its a better choice than a 4-line however.
