First SPS colonies

vthondaboi · Sep 28, 2005

Finally picked up some SPS colonies, at least I think they're colony sized. Each piece is at least 5 inches in length or height.

Could y'all ID each one and tell me how much they might retail for around here?

I'm sure the purple one is an encrusting monti and the light blue/purple is some sort of acro. The pink one is actually soft to the touch.

first one Acropora Sp. (guessing)
2nd one pink stylophora (cats paw)
3rd is encrusting montipora

I am in no way saying that this is what Acropora species it is, just a direction to go. Try looking up an Acropora austera. The pink one, how soft are we talking? Do you mean the polyps on it make it look soft and fuzzy or are you saying the skeleton is soft?
Like he said, the last one can be like the first one, as far as species. It definately is some sort of encrusting montipora, but one of several species.

The pink one is soft and squishy on the outside but has a hardness to it once you squeeze harder.

How about telling us what YOU paid?
