puffer-lover

hello everyone, my name is matt, i live in sunnyvale, texas. i just got my first salt tank. my first 4 fish to go in were 2 clown, a squirel, and a porqupine puffer. all are doing well and have been in the tank now for a week. i am having to hand feed the puffer, dont know why, but he will not eat unless i give it to him. new fish will be going in the tank tomarrow. i am new to this as it is my first salt tank. glad to be here.
 
Matt - welcome to the board. Sunnyville huh, I'm not that far from you I am in Mesquite ( Balch Springs ) border line. I see your going with a Fish Only. I just started a fish only at work.

There's a few of us in this area. Were having our monthly meeting tomorrow at Pet Boutique on Garland Road. You should swing by and meet everyone.
 
thats awsome, we need to get together sometime. i am in alabama right now on business, but i need all the info i can gather. im actually at 80 and collins
 
80 and Collins, I know the area well... I live in Rowlett, not that far from you, but I grew up in Garland at I-30 and Beltline, and frequently drove around back by you just to get away from everything...

Anyway, howdy and welcome! The meeting will be next week (Wednesday the 12th) if you'll be back in town, we'd love to meet ya'...
 
DoH! My bad!!! It's on the 10th, tomorrow...

Well dangit, I prolly won't be able to make it then... I went to the front page, and just got the date of the upcoming meeting with the biggest font, instead of checking and noticing that that was LAST month's meeting...

id love to go to the meeting and meet everyone, however i will not be back in town in ime to make it. what do you do at the meetings? thanx to everyone for the warm welcome in.
 
usually just visit with everyone. we have them at diffrent parts of town usually at a Pet Store in the area ( this may change in the future ).

The President usually kicks it off with a small discussion on items new to the hobby and a general over view of what the club is about. Then after question are answer'd we have a small raffle for fish and corals. Members get a discount on raffle ticktes. Then we just shop in the store most of the time the store offers us a discount that night on items...

You should look into being a member alot is going on right now that you can't read about without being a member.
