first aptasia anemone? think its gone?

so was taking a peek at the tank tonight under the LED lunar lights, and i saw what looked like a glowing tiny anemone in the rocks. since there was another anemone on a rock i cant ID (brown in color, pics tomorrow... hoping its not a majano), i've been on high alert. i gave it the poke test to see if it retreated immediately and it definately did. so i checked on a few of the ways of beating these guys.

my first test was to try boiling water injected onto it. well, i think it worked at killing it. instantly after getting hit by two siringe-fulls of boiling water he collapsed back into his tiny hole. thankfully i could see him even in the hole. and within 2-3 minutes his irredesince had gone away. within 3-5 more minutes and my cleanup crew was in action. i had about 3 crabs running for it. and they sat there and dug it out of the hole. piece by piece they broke him apart. now i'm afraid that all the little pieces are going to form new aptasias all over the tank [smilie=crying.gif] guess we will see tomorrow.

also, i'll post a picture of the other unknown nem. he sits on a rock, is brown, tips look like bubbles. hes been there for about 1-2 months now growing bigger and bigger. he hasn't moved or multiplied. but if its a bad one, i'll just pull his rock out and nuke him with a butane torch (small, easy to get to rock).

You may be seeing a Majano anemonia in your tank, based on that last paragraph's description. They too are pests in that they grow in abundance.

as promised, name that anemone:

Looks like a Majano to me, but it could be a Tulip Anemone when it has time to grow in. Either way, unwanted.
