Finally set-up my most recent purchase (210) I set it up in my garage because Just too big for the space in the house. I will be setting up one in the living eventually but until then I just enjoy it in the garage. Still have not plumb in U.V., chiller, refugium and I haven't added the 2 6100 tunzes and 2 6080 tunzes. I have a ASM skimmer running on it right now but debating should I put the Trigger system it. I have a 100 gal stock as a sump. One thing about garage lots of space :D and 40 gal refugium. Just a few pictures to see where I'm at and the few item that survived the move.

I'm gonna take my time and allow the tank to age a little more before I place some coral sand in the tank.

Your garage must be a lot cleaner than mine, I will be super scared that something bad would blow into the sump/tank/fuge with it being exposed like that. On day's like today, it could be a 20* temp change rather quickly, I wish ya luck with ou new baby.

Cheers!

So actually believe that if the temperture outside drops 20degrees. that almost 300 gal of water will change temperture even with 3 300 watt heaters and a chiller. I can't see that. Also MY gragage is not nearly close to being the temp. of outside summer or winter. I don't have an air-condition in their but it is insulated. Just to let you guys know, no to be rude but I'm ten years at this, I'm not a newbie, I know what the risk are. As far as temperture goes, it's no different than someone who put a chillers outside. Same risk apply even greater. As far as stuff flying into my sump, rick are the same with tank inside the house with household products, cologne, perfumes, air freshner products. Same risk apply, I just have to be careful around the tank. Some people garage and the think dirty, gasoline, oil, and so on. Some people do have fairly clean garages. :D

Dang..you're awfully defensive for someone so confident in your choice. I wasn't criticizing you so please don't take it that way. My garage is insulated also(including the door) but I wouldn't sleep in it, I also keep cars in it so that would not be a choice for me , not saying this applies to you......good grief dude :?

The light itself should help cool the tank down during the winter time. The summer heat would probably run the chiller all day and night. If you got the money for the electricity, than go for it.

Not being defensive, just stating I know the risk. The problem is not to be rude, but I really wasn't asking you what your choice would be. I just posted picture of the set-up. Wasn't asking for opinion on would it be a good idea to put a tank in the garage.

tnn1567, I know the summer is going to be rough. May put an air-conditioner in the window help keep the room cool.

Looks great,
I run a 75 in my garage and have done so for about 2 yrs. I use it for Quaratine and curing rock among other things. Never had an issue with heat or cold, mine is insulated but not climate controlled.

Man! I just added my 2 tunze 6100's and are they moving somewater, may need to dial them down. Beating up on GSP and Pom Pom's. The few SPS coral polyps extended big time! With this much flow this may be sps tank only

The Tank looks awesome. As far as the whole Garage/temp thing, I would also consider having a pair of 55 gallon barrels for your RODI water and keep those heated as well. that will significantly stabilize the overall temp and reduce the risk of temp shock when adding water
