few ick questions????

have been treating for ick with coppersafe for 3 weeks now. My tang has a single white spot on his fin. The one he uses to swim with(Don't know the technical name for it). Is this still ick? He has been clear of all spots since the third day of treatment. I had to top my tank off with ro/water last week. Does that effect the copper levels. It seems like the test was just slightly lighter when I tested but I don't want to over medicate. Can this be something else?

Is the spot the size of a grain of sand? Might just be a scrape.

Got any pictures?

Doing a top-off can change the copper levels, how much did you add, and what size is your tank?

I have a 55g qt and I added maybe 3gallons of water. I looked at the spots with a magnifing glass and it kinda looks like white dust maybe not a grain of salt. It doesn't seem to be raised. I will try to get a picture

Sugar / salt / dust.. All are common descriptions of what turns out to be ich. Do you have a copper test kit? You'll want to get one that matches the copper treatment you're using so that you can maintain the copper at effective but not toxic levels.
