Feeding?

Does anyone else not feed? All I have is a Gramma and cleanershrimp in a 125 but ~knock on wood~ I have only fed them like 4 times in the last year. The tank is almost a fuge itself I suppose.

While I personally don't recommend it, at least not for people with a higher bioload than you've got, during the "Three Years Of Neglect" my system went through after my daughter was born, I fed once a month, IF they were lucky...

I had a few losses, but overall most of the inhabitants survived, even if they weren't very plump...

It's really a bioload issue. I had a 29G a very long time ago (probably 7-8 years that only had a pair of clown and some live rock. It was an algea farm but lots of pods and stuff and virtually never fed it. They were fat and happy.

I feed very small amounts and think people in general overfeed. In my 135G I fed the equivelent of 1 cube a day for 10 fish including 2 tangs!
It of course also depends on the type of fish. Anthias have to eat constantly, others can go forever. In my 135G I fed the equivelent of 1 cube a day for 10 fish including 2 tangs!

Gary in ft. worth by Marc used to feed one pinch of flake once a week and his tank was great!

And I tend to feed enough to make up for all of the other reefers that don't.

You and me both Marc!

I feed 4 shrimp and 2 fish in a 20g a cube of mysis a day. Phyto every other day or two.

haha good to hear, I know I am lazy about feeding so I don't keep much in the way of fish. Was just curious if anyone else did / has done the same.

Its just the gramma, shrimp, and thousand bristleworms and whatever else happened along lol
