Feeding Question

So my two clowns are eating great. I bought pe mysis but the shrimp are too big so they don't eat that. So I went and bought some flake food that they can fit in their mouth. I'm giving just a little bit at a time and some of it still falls to the bottom before they eat it. But they're still swimming up top like they're hungry. I don't want to overfeed and raise phosphates and nitrates but how do I know when to stop? I've read "as much as they'll eat in 2-3 minutes" but do I keep putting in a little at a time letting 1/4 of it fall to the bottom every time?

PE Mysis is great but as you said it's big. Try some smaller mysis but be sure to strain it as it will have a lot of additives in it.

From my experience, PE=Large, SF Bay=Medium, and Hikari=Small. I defrost a cube of Hikari and a cube of SF Bay in the same cup currently. I have not tried PE again because it was just too big for several of my fish. There was an article on ReefBuilders a few months ago about how PE was coming out with a new version with smaller mysis, but I have yet to see it anywhere.

I have found frozen mini mysis at LFS. Much smaller than regular mysis and fit more easily in my telescoping target feeder.

I started with SF Bay and then went to PE Mysis and had the same problem. Switched to Rod's Food and everyone in the tank is happy. There's a large variety of sizes between small mysis and larger chucks of shrimp in the mixture that everyone picks their sizes to eat.

With only having the clowns for now I'd probably go with SF Bay, just make sure you rinse it really well.
