feather duster question

I got a feather duster a couple weeks ago and it seems to be doing great. But, he has moved around two inches since I put him it, and it has backed itself into my rockwork a little, and it can't fully open because it is next to the rock. It is not as pretty here and I'd like to move it. I was not aware they anchored themselves in the sand until I tried to move it and realized I couldn't. Would it hurt anything to dig it up and move it to a better location?

you can move it (that's how they got it out of the ocean after all =), just be very careful not to hurt the worm inside. just wondering, are you feeding?

Well, I do feed the corals and fish, both live and frozen brine and the coral foods, like zoo-plankton and phytoplankton. I feed the corals with the pumps off. I figured some of this surely makes its way into the feather duster.

Hi,

As long as the current is not too strong, the FD shoud have no problem, you are feeding correctly (phyto) so no worries there. Just be careful when moving it as Chris mentioned, if it get's too stressed, it will "throw" it's crown(fan).

Cheers,
