False Percs Fighting?

I have 2 false percs and they keep biting each other, and one of them keeps shaking. Is this fighting or mating?

There's a good possibility they're doing their thing. Have they been together for any length of time? Is one larger than the other? It's quite possible that the female is establishing her dominance. Just watch them closely, and let nature take over.

I have had them for about 3 weeks now, and they both look the same size to me.

I am hoping they are mating, they have been doing it for about 2 weeks now. And they aren't dead yet.

You should have one shaking...like a siezure? That will be the male. He's doing his little dance for her. I lost my fem. due to jumping...picked up a black perc. He went to shaking, the male in the tank turned female and now, all is well.

If there are no shredded fins, sores, wounds, etc by now- you're probably okay. It's risky to add a second clown of the same size, but one will kill the other PDQ if it's going to happen. Is the other guy still eating / swimming around?

I have two clarkiis of different size, the smaller one is also leaning more to black... The female is a beast though, thinking she might not ever want a man in her life. Or maybe because they're little rbta isn't big enough for the both of them and she wants the couch to herself. Poor guy, he swims around looking so depressed when he gets denied...

When I had my false percs, I had the female for a number of months, then added a male about 1/4 of her size and they got along instantly. *shrug*

They both seem fine, they both eat like pigs, so I guess I have another to worry about.

But in addition to the 2 clowns I have a cleaner shrimp and a purple lobster This morning when I saw my tank, my cleaner shrimp was dead.....now I wonder how that happened.

I'm wodering if a purple lobster is a good tank mate for 2 percs and a cleaner shrimp, which is now an x-cleaner shrimp. Anyone else have any experience with a lobster?

I'd always heard that they were only 'semi-reef safe' but I've never heard an explanation about what they might munch on that makes them 'semi-'.

Had one when I started out, it's not really reef safe. Once it get's big enough and figure out those thing's swimming around are tasty, watch out. I had to break my tank down in order to get it out and it was still hard to catch without rocks in the tank...had to drain all the water also. When it was in my tank I alway's wondered why my cleaner's, pep's and coral banded were alway's out and never went into the rockwork. Get it out now is my advice.
**edit** The carnage started right after putting in some firefish(they sleep in the rockwork at night), one came up missing half of it's tail, then disappared, 1.5 weeks later the remaining one disappeared, followed by a small false perc, then a randall's goby, then my coral beauty kept having lil V shaped pieces missing for it's fin's.

Cheers!

Yeah, those lobsters are really cool looking, but according to Fenner, if you put a Purple Lobster in your tank, eventually it will be the only thing in the tank
