Last year at MACNA, in my sponsored booth I had a 40g breeder set up a on steel stand which was ordered from EzTube.com

It looked great, and one of our club members has that tank and stand now. I'm about to set up a 60g rimless AGE tank in my kitchen area, and needed a new stand. I contacted EzTube on 9/12 and within a couple of days they shipped out my order. Here are all the pictures of the stand.

Later this week, I'll get the aquarium on the stand, and then it will be plumbed into the 400g.

thats pretty dang snazzy to be honest! How sturdy is it? Does it sway at all when under a lot of weight?

I'll let you know when there's water on top, but I'm expecting it to be very stable. This is all steel with heavy duty corners, unlike the aluminum version we use for light racks.

im very curious to see how this works out for you.

In looking at their site it looks like you could easily design additional uprights and crossmembers for additional support. This is SUPER cool to me and I wish I had known about it before I bought a wood stand.

Yes,there are plenty of options. I think you can even add feet to adjust the height and get it stable. The MACNA tank had a light rack bolted to the stand, and they drilled it and had threaded receivers installed for the included bolts. I think bigger tanks may not work out on this, but something like this should be fine. 60g is 600 lbs, and that should be fine for steel. This will butt against a wall which adds stability too.

Any concern with getting water in the cracks between the tube connectors and having corrosion from the inside where the paint doesn't get?

edit...

from what i read most aluminum stands can withstand corrosion but you can get pitting if you let the salt stay on the aluminum for extended time.

This is a steel stand. And I don't expect much water to get on the stand itself. :)
