[Hello All,

Well I am building a sump for my new 105 set up and I plan on getting an ASM G3 for it some where down the line and I want to make sure I leave enough room in the skimmer section of the sump to fit it. I went to this web site

Neptunes Reef ASM Skimmers

and it says the G3 has a foot print of 11 X 12. So I was planning on making the skimmer section 12 X 13 for a little wiggle room but then Marc said that sometimes the specs given do not include the pump for the skimmer so I was hoping someone who had one could verify the foot print with the pump attached. Is it actually 11 X 12 or bigger?

Thanks in advance,

[Thanks Mark, so it sounds like I will be OK. I show a 20L being 30 X 12 X 12. So assume your skimmer BARELY fitting in means in a max space of 12 inches wide. My sump will be a 40L which is 48 X 13 X 16 and my skimmer area will be 12 X 13 so that should be great. With that said, if you ever want to sell your G3 please put me first in line :wwww:]

[I would make it 13x14 if you can afford to., I really wish I had an inch of wiggle room around teh skimmer, I had to kind of wedge it in at an angle just slightly.]

[I hope it is not too late but I just now found the website again where I bought my ASM G-4. Their footprint measurements were right on for the G-4 with the pump. They say the G-3 is 11x12x25"H with the pump.

Here is the link: http://www.roesmarineworld.com/xasmskimm.htm

Their prices were much cheaper than Neptunes Reef when I bought it last year.]
