euroreef skimmer overfolwing

I don't know what is wrong with my skimmer! When I turn it on it just keeps bubbling up over the top of the collection cup...the collection cup fills with water in about 8min...it is in the full "open" position

Is it a recirc or not? Could the output be clogged?

How deep do you have it also. If it's to deep then it won't be enough "pressure" to keep the bubbles down in the neck.

no its not a recirc and its the same depth its always been in? and I thought the same thing yesterday so I took it out and cleaned the entire skimmer...that was fun :?

if i adjust the air that the pump is bringing in to almost nothing it will not overflow but there are a TON of microbubbles coming out of the skimmer return???

nope, the only thing that I can think is maybe us staining/priming/painting the concrete the fumes may have done something?? The 400G skimmer was kind of acting funny too but I just lowered the adjustment thing and its working fine..

The fumes may be causing it. Keep your carbon running and turn off the skimmer for a day or so.

Might not be a bad idea. Most of those products are water based and they vaporize and can get into the tank water. I would throw some extra carbon in for sure and if the room is still smelly from the floor products open the windows.

yeah fumes will do it...when i painted the master bedroom my skimmer overflow container needed to be changed out twice every two days instead of once every two days....

i ran carbon when i started painting. Not sure what causes it. If you are acid staining i know my friends tank crashed even though they opened up all the windows.....

just becareful brian....

just open the windows and run fans to push and pull air out till fumes go away...

mine does the opposite, if I pinch off the air line the water will rise instantly and over flow. And I have never had any micro bubbles with mine.

mine does go nuts after a water change and needs to be turned off for 1/2 a day.
