EUROREEF CS80 VS AQUA C EV180

I AM SETTING A 90 GAL WITH 29 GAL SUMP AND AM LOOKING AT SKIMMERS
WHICH WOULD YOU GUYS RECOMMEND BETWEEN THESE TWO, ALSO HOW DO THEY STACK UP AGAINST ASM G3???

I AM REALLY LOOKING FOR THE VOICE OF EXPERIENCE ON THIS ONE

For the money I don't think the ASM skimmers can be beat. I justed installed an ASM G4+ on my 120G and like what I see so far.

I have a ER and love it...guess it would be the same for ASM.
One big advantage is cleaning it...ER/ASM is so much easier to clean. Big factor for me in making my choice.

I have an EV-240, and it's always pulling out a lot of gunk. Easy to clean, easy to tweak. I've never had an ASM / ER though, so I can't give you a good comparison.

Needlewheel skimmers (like the ER) typically consume less W than a beckett or venturi (like the AquaC). Considering the skimmer is on 24/7, this can add up to significant cost savings over time.

I used to own an Aqua C EV-180, and I currently own a Euroreef. They are both great skimmers. The EV180 unfortunately quit working on me for some unexplained reason. When it worked, it worked great. As far as bang for the buck, you can't go wrong with Aqua C models. If you have the money though, invest in a Euroreef. But either way, you can't go wrong with either or.

With this skimmer only 189 and MD and PA, I couldn't pass it up. Should arrive Wend. They have a great reputation, and premium needle-wheel tech, so why not go for it?

Oh and on their tank ratings; they underrate their skimmers, and asm overrates theirs. So you just sortof take the middle ground between the two to see if it's the right size for your tank.
