Emergency Emergency Spawning Event Taking Place!!!

My Palythoa polyps are spawning!!!

What do I do?! There's so much "stuff" in the water and it keeps shooting out more!!!

Do I need to do a water change?

Thanks!!!

Lots of water changes and carbon.

If you don't it's possible the oxygen level will plummet, dieoff from the nutrients will occur and cause a cycle, etc. It may or may not happen but I wouldn't risk it.

I hate it when anything but fish or shrimp spawn!!!

What's that? For, um like me who doesn't know what it is, apparently

What's what, the coral or what they're, er... releasing?

Palythoa are very similiar to zoanthids, but different (Button Polyps)

Spawning is, well... Making babies...

And the stuff in the water is most likely gametes and/or eggs and other articles of reproduction...

Ok today I did a 15% water change my other corals have not come out for 2 days and 2 heads of my candy cane coral are dead... :? I also added carbon to the tank and will replace it in about 3 days or so I am going to try and do another water change tomorrow. None of my corals look great... I don't know whats up its really starting to irritate me especially since this is a fairly new tank...

What does the water look like? What water tests have you done? How are your fish responding? Do you run a skimmer, and if so, have you cleaned it well so it is working at peak efficiency?

water still looks a little murky, water tests

PH-8.3
AMMONIA-0
NITRITE-0
TEMP 80.5-82
SG-1.025

one of my chromis is acting funny kinda jerking around so is my longnose hawkfish but the other chromis are fine (4 others). Yes I am running a skimmer and it is collecting nicely. Corals still look bad I am going to do a water change tomorrow and see what happens...

Running carbon actively, like through a Phosban Reactor, will help a lot.
