emerald crab mating?

I woke up to take my wife to work at 3am, only to witness the strangest thing... two of my emerald crabs doing a wierd little dance, one waving his arms up and down, while the other circles him, them the one that was waving his arms puts them around the smaller one, and appeared to me "humping" it? I'm just wondering if I witnessed and midnight interlude.....
 
That's amazing, my wife and I watched, as the two did thier dance, then the male walked up to the female, and kinda hugged her, before doing his buisness.... my wife freaked out, her jaw dropped, and the only thing she said was... Are they doing what I think thier doing?
 
:lol: Where did she think the little emerald crabs came from in the first place?

I saw a documentary about this once, and it was fascinating. In that show, it was pointed out that they only time they can mate is when the female molts and he has only a couple of hours to do the deed before her carapace hardens, then it is no longer an option. Crazy, right?
 
Ahh, the mating of the emerald.

"Wanna do it?"
"ok, hurry, my shell is coming back in an hour."
"Be careful where you pinch."
