Just got mine in today! 3 white, 2 blue. This will be going over my office nano tank. I'll post pics later tonight

For that last pic I held it above the tank about 12". The previous bulb was a 26 watt blue and white compact fluorescent.

Being the impatient person that I am, I fashioned a "ghetto-rigged" pvc structure to hold the bulb for now. I had tons of it laying in the garage.

You need something more elegant that that. Lindsey used an articulating arm commonly used for an adjustable desk lamp.

Or here's a DIY light kit hanger: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2009-04/diy/index.php

You could always paint your PVC black, but the thing is that frame is bigger than your tank. It needs to be something simpler and cleaner.

Yeah I'm planning on it, I just didn't have time today to get one. I just got a little impatient and wanted to see it hung up. [smilie=wink.gif]

Much better! Now I just need to clean my desk [smilie=rofl.gif]

There about $75-$100 a piece. You would do far better getting a T5 setup for temps and colors and price. Oh wait sorry!!!!!!!!!!! Never mind do what you want lol [smilie=lol.gif]

ok , thanks , i think i finally came up with light i wanna do ! ... its a system , that has 3 250 watt MH built in , and 4 96 watt actinics , and 16 moonlights down the center ! ... found it on ebay for like 600 !!! thanks for the advice on how much they were a piece !! i like the little oh wait thing too thats funny [smilie=clapping.gif] [smilie=rofl.gif]

well it turns out that the arm I bought from the office supply store wasn't very strong and could barely hold the par38 bulb up unless it was almost fully upright. I ended up breaking the plastic nut that's used to tighten the arm in my attempts to get the arm to look just right. I'm going to look for another one [smilie=sadsmile.gif]
