Echino From Neptunes Cove

I made my weekly stop at Neptunes Cove Friday, and picked up a couple really nice corals. He was also getting a shipment yesterday, so I went back today. Found this unbelievable echino, and just had to share.
Thanks again Bill.

I'd rename that... strawberry vanilla swirl.... :)

Nice coral and you got a few freebies too.. can't beat that.

Good call, I'll go with the new name.
Thanks Dave.
Actually the price was quite good considering the size, color, and the extra zoos all over the bottom and sides.

They are in style these days.. so they get a pretty penny. If you are in the market for one, I'd suggest holding off for a few months or so. Rumor has it that the ones coming now are the tip of the iceberg. New CITES are opening up all over and more and more stuff is coming in from OZ. I won't say they will be flooding the market, but there will be a lot of unique color morphs coming in. I hear the same about zoanthids and palys as well. The more there are coming in, the more will filter through the normal channels and not be cherry picked, which is what happens more times than not these days at the point of distribution. Finding a whole piece like this is hard these days as the cherry pickers end up fragging most of what comes in.

Close.. hard to tell for sure with all that blue DD uses. I think mine is catchier though :)

Darn it Drew I would of gotten that. Unfortunately I was on shift today at the fire station. Did he get anything else that would of been up my alley? You know the stuff I like to buy.

He had some real nice zoos in, but they hadn't all opened yet, so I shy'd away from them for a few days. He also had a couple nice aussie acan's, but both were too similar to ones that I already had. Oh yeah, and unbelievable XLg male Lineatus wrasse.
The thing I like about Bill's is there's always something hidden away in a crevice, and if you don't look real hard, you wont see it. This echino was a perfect example. Someone had it stashed, and I just happened to see the zoos throught the side of the glass, and then looked down on the rest of it. There was at least 3 other echino's there that I wanted to take home, but I need to do some reorganizing in the tanks, so they are going to have to wait.

I saw the echino as it came out of the bag....I knew someone would grab it up quick. However, I had no idea it had the zoas on it because they were still closed up.

Nope but sometimes we do holiday light hanging for free to help out our FRIENDS!

Whats all this friend talk around here? As soon as this pico contest gets under way, we'll all be enemies to the death, or the first tank crash.

I got something similar in a Chalice tonight from Frank... I'll post some photos when I get some done but its a deep red with pink/red swirls and orange spots here and there. Probably will name it strawberry dacq or something tasty :)
