Dwarfs

We found 3 dwarfs in the Indian River estuary above Ft Pierce, FL (where SeaHorseSource gets their broodstock) including a carrying male.

We have had them since Saturday - he gave birth to 7 babies today.

Started BBS two days ago so have food - but since we are here (in FL) we don't have all our equipment and this is getting interesting.

Hopefully we will be able to keep some alive and bring them back home.

oh that's neat!!! :D
i wonder if they eat rotifers? it'll be a lot easier than having to hatch baby brine daily...
and also cuz rotifers won't dirty the water...

Last time we had them the only thing they would eat was the BBS.

We are gut loading with yeast for now (I think these were released in the last 4 hours or so and we weren't quite as ready as we wanted to be).

Would rather use selcon but don't have any yet - will hit Big Als Superstore tomorrow

So far we have 9 fry and the male / female are twirling in the bowl already.

Looks like this may be a rather fruitful pair if we manage to get them back to Dallas.
