Drain pipe

I have just finished setting up a 58G reef tank. I drilled the return and drain line on the back of the tank and have had it set up for almost a week now. Everything works fine except the sound of the water rushing down the drain line. i have a dorso on it so there is no gulping, just the sound of the water rushing down the drain line is the only problem. Any suggestions to quiet it down?

New plumbing takes up to 14 days to slime over and quiet down. Are you testing this with freshwater (which is noisier) or saltwater? How big is the hole in your Durso? You actually hear it in draining inside the pipe, or you hear it crashing into the sump?

Freshwater. Im adding salt today. The actual size of the durso, or the hole I drilled in the cap at the top of it? I hear the water rushing down the pipe. The sump is quiet no bubbles or noise.

You are hearing freshwater. Once you add saltwater, and give it two weeks to slime over, it will be very quiet.
