Dowflake at Home Depot?

I seem to remember folks discussing buying Dowflake at HD? Is this just a seasonal item? If it is a normally stocked item, which HD carries it? Does anyone know?

I Appreciate input bc I want to make the 2 part calc/alk additive.

Thanks,
Gail

Tell them you are with DFWMAS so you can get in on their group program... if its too late, post here and one of us who is can order it for you and save you 10% or so.

You can buy it locally (Dallas) from Univar. About $17 for a 50 pound bag that will last a LONG time.

Their number is: 214-340-7300

Just so everyone knows. I setup an account with Univar last time we did a group buy for 1000 pounds of the Dow Flake. It cost us 15.00 plus tax for 50 lb bags and they did free shipping to my house.

I do not recall them allowing a " will call " on individual bags though.

Gail, if they will not let you buy a bag from them I have 5 pound bags I'm selling for $5.00 a bag. It will make 4 gallons of the Calcium part of the RHF 2 part solution.

edited the cost of a 50 lb bag. from 17 to 15... my bad!

Mike,

Thank you, that would be perfect! I will call the place tomorrow and see if they will sell individually, meanwhile a 5lb bag might be enough until maybe the next GB. Is it possible to come by today?

Hi Gail,
you're welcome to it. BTW, How big is your tank(s)? 4 Gallons would last most folks a few months if not longer.

I just woke up from working lastnight and have to run some stuff to Hust later this afternoon. I will be here till 3pm if you would like to stop by or we can meet over by the mall around 4:30 or so.
Call me and we can work-out the details.

Yes, it's under my motorcycle shop.

M.O. Hotrod Motorcycles

I may have to call the order in for you and you pay me first as I don't know if they will accept payment from you. The billed my company in the past.

Fact is, if they do it without call me I'm going to be a little upset since they are using the company credit card and the tax exempt number and my company will have to pay the tax on it to the state of texas.....

Please let me know what they say.

I spoke with Judy at Univar and they carry Dowflake at $15 for a 50 lb bag. This is technical grade 77/80. They do have a higher grade 94/97 for $15.50 a bag.
They also have Magflake for $15 a bag which is also technical grade.

Does anyone want a bag(s)?

My only potential prob is getting over to Richardson/Garland area (635/Plano Rd)during the week to pick up. She said they will open the gates after 5pm if we need to get there later.

I can carry several bags in my 4-runner.

We can set up a tax exempt account through DFWMAS.
What do ya'll think...can we set up an account (? for Matt or BODs)

Gail

Gail,

I work at 635/75 and could pick up anyone's order (assuming I am not floating the cash/payment) that can't make it that day - could probably fit 8 bags in my 4Runner. I could then meet somebody from the West side in Irving during lunch sometime to drop off West side order or people could pick it up from my house in Allen (but that's a hike). I'm definitely interested in picking up a bag of each for myself.

Thanks,

Lee

Gail , you can only setup a tax exempt account if you planning are collecting the sales tax on your end and paying sales taxes. We do not want to have get into collecting and paying sales taxes. Do they only sell wholesale? Or do they sell retail as well, that would be only if they want to deal with paying sales tax.

I will talk to her further tomorrow. She didn't seem to have a problem selling an individual bag to me. She didn't state whether it was wholesale or retail.
