Double check my sump/skimmer math please

I am going to order my baffles for my sump this week from a local glass company. My sump is a 75g tank that will be a very simple layout since I have remote fuge and frag tanks. Essentially I will house equipment and allow for extra volume if there is a power failure.
So my question. The footprint of my sump equipment area is 18" x 30". Baffles will be cut to 10" in height (meaning a 10" normal waterline in the sump). The height available for the skimmer is a max 31". The skimmer dimensions are 15 x 12.5 x 25. The "optimum" depth to run the skimmer is 7.5". With all of this said, I will place the skimmer on a 2.5-3" stand and that should take my total height to 28" and leave me 3" to work with. Also, from the top of the sump to the bottom of the stand is 13". That should give me enough room to wiggle that monster out when it needs to be cleaned.

Does anyone see any problems with my math and with the layout/footprint of this skimmer? I am attaching the link to the skimmer I am purchasing, but it is not from this site. Thanks for your help everyone!

Why not just cut the baffles to about 8 inches??? Giving u more wiggle room when taking it out?? If u don't have to put it on a stand then why do it??

Thanks Brett for that reply. The only reason that I see is that it decreases water volume in the sump a little, but with a system this large +/- 10g shouldn't make a difference.

Any other thoughts out there?

I agree that you will be losing some volume in your sump which you can compensate for by raising your main drain chamber a couple inches, add in a bubble trap pane 1" from thw bottom with the 3rd piece of glass going into the skimmer portion being only 8" tall. This will keep the volume in the sump the same while adding a bubble trap and eliminating a stand for the skimmer.

Here's the schematic of what I'm talking about. Same type setup of what I'm going to do with my sump.

Since you have a remote fuge, you can just eliminate that portion and make that whole part the return pump portion.

Thanks for the help. Frustrated right now. The skimmer I was going to order this week went up $150 from yesterday to today. Not certain I am going to order the sro-6000sss now.

Ouch. You try emailing them? Usually something along the lines of "I had to wait until payday to order, price went up that day, any way you can honor the lower price for me" email will go a long way.

I've saved a lot over the years with reaching out like that.

Yeah I did and I got a 1000 word essay on why the price went up and that he could lose his ability to sale the skimmers at the price he had them. I was hoping he would just say....if you will order it now I will give it to you at that price.....but it wasn't happening. Now I am searching for a different skimmer. Gonna post some options soon. Thanks for the help so far.
