Dosing

I know this is going to stir up some debate, but i was reading Reefkeeping and ran across this http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2007-04/rhf/index.php I know u shouldnt dose without testing what u have in the tank first. My question is what do you dose in your tanks and when?

I dose nothing but 2-part (alkalinity and calcium), and do 10% water changes every 2 weeks. That's it! I have seen no reason so far to dose anything else.

As you all know the water and its quality in our tanks is the most important aspect of our reefs and all living in them. This makes dosing one of the most critical things that we do as reef keepers. Hats off to DaveJ of all the information that he put together on this topic.

I dose a two part everyday and Reef Solution every other day and perform 10% water change every other week on our 75 gal tank. I use RC and Red Sea Coral Pro salt mixed with RO/DI water. This tank has been setup for just over nine years now and is very robust.

Our 200 gal tank has a calcium reactor along with a kalk drip and I use a two part to keep the water in balance when necessary. I also dose Reef Solutions every other day and a 10% water change every other week in this tank as well. The 200 gal tank has been setup for just over four years now and it also very robust.
