Dosing pump makes lights come on?

Hello,

I recently added a single dosing pump to my system to add Kalk to my tank at night. The pump is connected to my EB8. The pump runs for 30 seconds every 10 minutes. The pump has no problems going on or off, but when the pump turns off it makes all my LED's flash for a split second.

I find this VERY odd considering the LED's and the dosing pump are plugged into completely different outlets.

I've turned off the dosing pump until I can get this issue resolved. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Here are the programs for all the outlets involved:

Dosing Pump:
Fallback OFF
OSC 009:30/000:30/000:00 Then ON
If pH > 08.25 Then OFF
If Outlet DISP_RETURN = OFF Then OFF
If Time 08:00 to 20:00 Then OFF

Blue_DIM:
Set OFF
Fallback OFF
If Time 07:58 to 09:00 Then Rise-Blu
If Time 09:01 to 19:00 Then Mid-Blu
If Time 19:01 to 20:01 Then Set-Blu

White_DIM:
Set OFF
Fallback OFF
If Time 10:00 to 11:00 Then Rise-Whi
If Time 11:01 to 18:00 Then Mid-Whi
If Time 18:01 to 19:11 Then Set-Whi

White_Lights:
Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Time 10:00 to 19:10 Then ON

Blue Lights:
Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Time 08:00 to 20:00 Then ON

Do you have the dosing pump plugged into either outlet #4 or #8?

I have two dosing pumps, one in #4 and one in #8.

The dosing pump is plugged into 8. The lights are plugged into 2 and 5.

So, your outlet number 4 is empty? Maybe it's a bad energy bar. Have you tried switching the LED lights to another outlet to see if it continues to happen?

I haven't encountered this problem with my apex. But I did with my rkl. The aqualifter for my ato would make my fuge light flicker every time it kicked on. Instead of buying a surge device I just switched up the outlets to my 2nd pc4. Fixed the problem. Not sure if this would be the case with apex but a surge protector from Walmart 9.99 is worth a try..

few threads about this if you google it

No outlets are empty. Just find it VERY odd that a dosing pump would do something to make the VDM cable send a signal to the LED's if they are supposed to be OFF.

How would a surge protector help?

Try re-routing any and all power related cables away from the VDM cable, inductance can cause this, you need about a 3Volts or 100uA current spike to cause the reaction you are getting. Are you using a PWM adapter or the plain 0-10V from the apex for dimming?? Do you supply constant power to the driver and just allow the Apex to control it via dimming output? Do you have the 10V power source on the same power leg as the dosing pump?

Cheers,
