Erica & mwilk19, I think the problem with these are the microchip which controls the unit. Humidity might shorten the lifespan, and could even make it malfunction !! Not something I want to experience.
MBSL55, my area under the tank is crammed to the bone and unfortunately there's water from corner-corner. My only option would be outside somewhere.I would have to build a shelf of some type, as I don't like equipment viewable from the front. I was hoping some here had theirs in the sump area and could give me feed back in regards to longevity . I have my RKL equipment in the same area and so far no problems after 3 yrs, but this might be a different animal all together ( made in China). If anyone has one of these units in the sump area, please chime in. Perhaps a fan in that immediate area could help ? Any feedback is appreciated. If I could keep it in there with no problem, I sure would like to !!
