DO I NEED LIGHTS YET?

so i have a 55 gl tank and i am buying my overflow, skimmer, sump, refugium tomarrow I was woundering if i need lights yet if i only put LS and LR into my tank? with out fish and coral.... though i was thinking about getting sun coral being they don't need light. please let me know what yall think.

It may or may not be avaliable to see... You have to be a member of the east taxas reef to see it
 
I am not real familiar with the sun coral. If you want to help the coraline algae start growing on the live rock you could get a shop light and some sunlight bulbs from Lowes for about $25.00. This is actually one of the best ways to get your rock to start encrusting with coraline algae since it really doesn't like super bright light and it would give the tank inhabitants some light until you purchase your reef lights.

The rock and sand will be fine without light though if you don't want to get any lights yet.
