Do bristle-worms eat Chaeto?

my chaeto in my fuge is literally infested with bristle-worms. at least 20 of them per handful (not that I would even think of touching it with my hands now  )

and have noticed over the past several months that it is absolutely not growing fast at all, if anything even shrinking in size. I also have a large turbo-snail in the fuge and I know they eat chaeto, but probably not at the rate mine is descending at.

any ideas? i used to have to cut it back 50% every 2 weeks it was growing so fast.

Hmmm, I don't think they eat it, but ya' never know...

Have you changed anything else recently? Added a phosban reactor, done more water changes, cut back on feedings, etc?

and I am assuming it isn't bad to have that many, correct? some are pretty stink'n big.

Serk, i changed quite a bit lately... have done 4 water changes this past month and cut back on feeding. always had a phosban reactor going but slowed down the speed considerably recently.

i dose Iron and Iodine as well now so would have thought it would start increasing in growth.

is it more-so a good sign when tank inhabitants are doing well and chaeto is not growing fast?

fyi, i use the same light that Marc recommends on his site. the PC flood light. 10,000k i think.

Mine is filled with bristle worms!! and it hardly grows...in fact it almost all died because I had nothing for it to feed on...I since started feed my tank more and atleast the stuff isnt dieing LOL.
