If i have an existing marine battery (12V) with trickle/maintainer charger, can i use the vortech battery cable and wire it to the battery in place of the retail battery back-up ... doesn't the vortech controller switch the pump to battery power in case of a power outage, and the battery back-up (retail) is just a battery and charger in a neat package - is this correct??
