Does someone here build these and can help me walk through the process of what are the best LED's for my tank etc.

When i was looking into it was gunna do rapid becuase of their solderless kit and ive seen one from rapid so long as you dont have sloppy work it looks real good
 
I bought a DIY kit from Steve's. I'm very happy with it. Steve has always been very prompt in responding if I had a question.
 
Both of these places supply the LEDs on stars and drivers. The actual appearance of the fixture is up to you. Whether you just mount them to the heatsink or design a CNC milled aluminum case to hold them is up to your imagination and wallet! I greatly prefer RapidLED as their knowledge and customer service surpasses that of their competitors.
 
I use StevesLeds.com for 95% of my led need's, ledgroupbuy.com for 4%, and Rapidled.com about 1%. I always try to stand by a fellow hobbyist that started a business that either directly or indirectly helped out fellow hobbyist. [smilie=clapping.gif] [smilie=smile.gif]

I bought my kit from rapidled.
They are very responsive to your emails too.
