About 3 months ago I noticed my pair of clowns was down to 1. I have a very effective cleanup crew, and I figured something happened and I would never find the body to see what happened. All water params were fine, and no other fish showed any signs of illness.
A few days after it went missing, I purchased another female clown who has paired up and is doing great.
Last night I was cleaning the skimmer, and I dropped the hose in the sump. I leaned way under to grab it, and happened to see a shadow flash above me. The female clown is in my overflow! She looks fat and happy, almost excited to see me, she started dancing, or wiggling.
I am going to free her tonight, but I have two questions.
1. What is the best way to get her out without harming her?
2. Will she be ok to place back in my tank since I now have a pair in my 180?
I have a 180g all glass aquarium, that came with the pvc reef ready up pipes. (Sorry I dont know how to describe them). So there is little room for my hand or a net to try and scoop her out. I thought about just pulling the pipe out, and let it suck her down, but will that work?
Any tips would help, thanks!
