Has anyone tried this stuff? I am considering getting some and was wondering if anyone has any experience. I have been fighting this nasty stuff for about a month. I think I encountered it when I moved tanks. I am currently trying lights out for 2 days and then back on 1 and continuing. If anyone has any other advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

75gal Tank
29 Sump
Avast CS-1 Skimmer
2 Korilla 1150
Phosban reactor running Phosban
all parameters are in check

Thank you Lindsey, I think I am going to go this method. Right now I have the tank covered with lights off until tomorrow. At which point if I still are them, which I will, I am foo g to start dosing h202

David,

Thanks for the read, very encourging. I went ahead and dosed 8mL of H2O2. All zoas shrank up immediately. I am going to go ahead and continue with lights out until tomorrow. I will report back and let anyone who cares know how it is going.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will probably setup something like that. Gives me something to do anyway. LOL. I really hope this gets them, I dont wanna start over! [smilie=angry.gif]

Also, sorry for the terribly typed response earlier, sometimes typin on the iPhone can really screw things up HAHA

from what I have read on this subject its really about patience. If you have a ton of money invested in coral it will payoff to be super patient and follow the article lindsey provided. I hope it works out for you though.

There are other options out that like increasing the ph above 8.4 but it requires you to be very vigilant and monitor the crap out of your tank. I think Holmes Farley did a write up on that method or at least discussed it. Ill see if I can find it.

I dont have TONS of money invested in coral, but have enough that I wouldn't want to start over or lose anything. The only thing that appears to be at risk at the moment is my green toadstool. I am really hoping this works. I am replacing my GFO this afternoon when ever UPS brings my order!

After a couple hours, all corals opened back up with ver nice extension just like DFW stated in his thread. I can see a lot of the filaments of the dinos have released. Most of the bubbles have gone off of them. Looks good so far! [smilie=whew.gif]

I completely forgot about this thread.

So for anyone that might be wondering:
I did lights out for 4 days and was doing 15m/l of H202 daily. I started off at 10m/l but was seeing no change. It took about 2-3weeks for the apparent dinos to disappear. I am still dosing h202 at the moment at a rate of ~10m/l daily. I am trying to figure out when to quit, I have no interest in seeing those suckers pop back up. Every now and then, I see a couple pop up on the rocks late in the day before lights out but are gone the next morning. I does the H202 at night right at lights out.

Now, to treat the hair algae invasion in my 12gal nano cube!

I guess your corals are doing alright, aren't they?

Everything seems to be doing great actually. Had a lot of growth and coloration increase on most stuff. The only thing is my green tipped birdsnest is kinda whitish/brownish. The green tips are starting to come back nicely. Thanks for everyones help and ideas. :)

I am so glad you are succeeding! I would keep dosing until they are GONE, I think.

David

I am surely gonna keep dosing until they are gone. I was worried for a bit. Im just glad my coral isnt being effected. Wish I could get the bright green outta my birds nest, but maybe that is due to the lighting change (from halide and supplemental LEDs to T5s, funny, I see better growth from the T5 HOs). Ill keep this updated.
