Digital Tank Heater With Display What the best?

Hey DFWMAS,

I need to get a tank heater for my 14G bioCube and I want one with a digital display that runs outside the tank to keep an eye on it. What is the best one to get for the money. So I dont want to spend 100 bucks I would like to be in the 20-50 range. Let me know what you think or if you even have one

I am running a pair of Finnex Manual control heaters from BRS in the sump of my 110. I don't know how good the control is on them as I control them via my AC3. I was considering getting one of the Finnex digital remote probe versions for my Biocube. I like the Finnexs because they are pretty short, are not glass (so won't break), and they have the controls out of the water so it is easier to adjust and see what is going on.

I know you don't want to spend a $100, but... You will likely spend a lot more than you want to by the time it's all said and done. I would recommend a Apex Jr or a Reefkeeper lite. It will not only run your heaters properly, but it can control your lights and stuff as well.

I was going the route you are attempting and decided against getting a quality temp controller and went with full automation. There has been a couple of these units on the forums for good deals. Just something to think about

Check out the Hagen Fluval E Series.. I've been running them since they came out. Digital display, backlit color (blue, green, red) so you know if all is well at a glance..

I switched over to JBJ Titanium Heaters that come with a digital controller. I have my Apex setup as a backup (1 degree above the max the JBJ controller goes to).

I set this up just prior to spring here in Texas so havent really gotten a ton of use out of it yet though.
