Different name for diamond goby?

[After my last trip to Saltwater Paradise, I was talking to Julie about the sand sifting goby that is in the "permanent" coral tank. She called it a Diamond Goby, but after much searching on fishbase.org, I can't find anything with a picture that matches it.

He's pretting fascinating to watch and I'm considering getting one for my tank, but have to do my homework first. Anybody have any alternate common names for him (or maybe would even know the genus species name)?]

[You da man Mark. All dat and a bag o' chips.

Lesson to be learned here, when you can't find what you are looking for on fishbase.org... don't neglect to just google it.]

[I was going to only have about a 2" bed until I read about the burrowing habits of this little guy. Now I'm thinking about making it a little deeper just to accomodate him. I'm not doing a DSB in the display tank so I won't mind him eating his fill of microfauna. I'm thinking I will do a good 4" bed in the refugium though, now that I've got all this southdown sitting around.]

[Well I don't about your tank but my tank is an open top tank and I too had a "Diamon Goby" and the little guy jumped out of the tank. So it just something to keep in mind, you are right it are a treat to see them eat and burry them selfs. Just keep in mind also that when they burry them selfs they do stir the sand a lot and it can be fustrating at times especailly when the water is full of stuff and it land all over your corals.]
