diatoms cleared but GHA (all gone)12/21/07

well i cleared alot of things up but i have GHA on my LR. i figures that i could just remove the LR and scrub it off but i wanted to check 1st

i was thinking that it was bryopsis but it doesn't look like any of the pics that i have seen. so im thinking its GHA

ive done the 3 days lights out thing and it worked great, just make sure you fix the problem or it will come back soon enough

Eddie, What lights are you useing? and how long are you letting them run every day? Im thinking it could be bad bulbs, and no clean up crew/or not enough clean up crew.

im using the pc setup i got from u and i purchased another from another member.(all new bulbs) now i dont have a clean up crew (my puffer would love that snack) but i do vacuum sand when i water change. could this be cause by the diatom problem i had?

2nd question Eddie, Where are you getting your water from? Top off water and new salt water for water changes? I think you need to test your water for phophates and silica. If you have phosphates your algee is going to consume it as food and get real bad in a hurry. You need to check that asap.

i also ran phosgaurd for about a week too.
see scott i have been reading more than u think(lol)
i'm here to stay not to play

Eddie, now while you was reading, did it say leave the phose gaurd in for a week, or longer? as I and most others use phosban in a phosban reactor, we keep ours on the system for about 3-6 months before changing it out, then only to put it back on when it needs changing. Just little more than a week. (yea I read to)
