Di resin chamber.. horizontal.. can I make it vertical?

Hi all! I recently bought a RO/DI unit...

The DI filter chamber didn't seem all the way filled up, maybe 90% filled...?

Anyways, the water seems to be channeling over the resin. It is possible to simple put the DI filter chamber in a vertical position? Upflow principle...
Or will this screw something up?

Also when I held the di resin vertically it seems like some of the resin is already brown (about 10% of the resin)! It should be green! I have only been using it for a few days.

Should be able to, mine's mounted vertically...

Have you tested the TDS of the water coming out of your RO filter? If something's not right there, and high TDS water is coming out of your RO, your DI media will get used up super quick as it's doing basically all of the filtering, instead of the final polishing as it's designed to do...

TDS is 15 comming out of RO membrane.
TDS is 29 comming out of the tank.

I used the tank pressure to go through the DI filter a couple times testing stuff out. I wouldn't think it would eat it up that fast?

Wow, your TDS is 15 coming out of your RO? I envy you! No, with a TDS of 15, your DI resin should last a good long time (Under average reef tank usage, I'd guess 6+ months)...

Not sure what could be causing the problem... :(

Here is a pic if it helps?

Hmmm, that doesn't appear to be a "standard" DI filter stage, don't know much about that particular kind... The ones I have experience with are cartridges that go into the same kind of canisters as the prefilter and the carbon block filter...

Sorry I can't be of more help on that...
