Das refugium - Has anyone done this?

[I have a 90 gallon DAS reef tank and I would like to add a refugium to it. I am looking for some ideas on how to implement it. For those of you who have not seen a DAS there is a 3" ledge of glass going around the top inside edge of the aquarium making it difficult if not impossible to hang a hang on overflow. I currently have a 29 glass aquarium I would like to use for the refugium if at all possible. I am trying to make this a system that would sit beside my DAS as a kind of a show refugium. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks all.]

[DAS is located locally in Waxahachie. Try calling them and asking if your tank is tempered glass on the back side. If it is not then simply drill it on the back ide and our off and running.]

[Yes, you can drill a hole in it. You will have to remove some of the water of course (2-3") but if you keep the circulation going in the tank with somr powerheads you'll be fine.]

[I also have a DAS tank though mine is a 60G I took out the H99 Filter and put on a HOB overflow and had Marc build me a custom Refuguim. Though some of the H99 are glued onto the back of the tank so first you need to find out if you can take yours out! If you can a HOB is really easy and safer then drilling a tank while it is full! If you choose to drill the tank Good Luck and let me know how it works I would love to drill mine some day.

[For the reference of others in the future, I called DAS and they said "as long as we were the ones who manufactured the tank, it can be drilled"]

[Wow so they said you can drill any DAS tank on any piece of glass? I think I hate them just a little bit less now....]
