My dart pump is making a high pitch sound does that mean the seal is going out?

Is there black powder under the pump where the seal is? Mine makes noises every once and a while.

This sound is loud I can hear it in another room with door on the stand closed

You might need to change the seal. Marc has a great DIY on replacing a seal on his web site.

When I first got mine it made a few noises every now and then. I just smacked it and it shut up. I think there was a thread about the ring being misaligned that could cause some noise.

I had one that I changed the seal on and after I replaced the seal it made that noise. I think I know exactly what you are hearing. It is a noise that drives the neighborhood dogs crazy. I went to eat and came back and the pump was fried. I think the bearing went out because I was having problems with it after the seal was changed and it was frozen up even after I took it apart. I would watch it very closely.

Thanks everyone I am going to call them to send me a replacement tomorrow

Same here. Maybe someone could put together a group buy on seals?

just got off the phone with reeflo....they gave me couple options to try out..

Seals are $30 and shipping is reg usps so couple bucks. so might be less hassle to just place order and have sent to your guys house

Here is reeflo's number 877-378-6798

If I cant get the pump to stop squeling by doing what they told me i am going to have them ship me a new one and i have no problem piggybacking your guys seals with my order

I would agree if there are no real savings in doing a group buy and for a few dollars in shipping it is not really worth it. What did they tell you to try?

there is a stopper on the drive shaft they want me try to move it back, somtimes it gets close to the front and rubs. also take of the impeller cover see if anything is stuck in there.

it went kaput couple weeks ago and i picked up a dart pump from sirricsalot. prob was a bearing as previous stated.

they are going to send me a replacement that i will keep as spare

it started squeaking about 3 months ago, really bad the past month then one day it just stopped pumping
